Appellate Experience

Leah has extensive appellate experience. Prior to starting her own private practice, Leah worked for five years as a law clerk and the lead civil staff attorney at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Leah reviewed cases involving constitutional, statutory, contract, employment, IP, tort, tax, bankruptcy, criminal, and habeas issues.

In addition to her time at the federal appeals court, Leah reviewed criminal and civil cases at the California Supreme Court.

Leah also litigated cases at the trial and appellate levels as an associate at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. She represented clients in federal and state courts. Her cases included class actions and single plaintiff suits that raised employment, contract, IP, trust, tort, and statutory claims. While at Orrick, Leah was actively involved in pro bono cases.

Previously, Leah served as an intern at the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project and assisted in preparing appellate and amicus briefs. Leah also served as a legal intern at Clifford Chance and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
